JOHN CHAPTER 4:
23 An hour is coming, and now is when the TRUE WORSHIPERS shall worship the Father in spirit (by means of the Holy Spirit) and truth (by means of God’s Word, the Bible) for such people the Father seeks to be His WORSHIPERS, Acts 16:13-14, 1Corinthians 2:12-16.
24 GOD IS SPIRIT and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth (by means of God’s Holy Spirit and God’s Word, the Bible).
Some Christians are gifted Bible teachers and their gift is supported by the Spirit of God, Ephesians 4:11-32. Many perhaps most Christians have the gift of listening and that is also supported by the Spirit of God, Acts 16:13-14.
The Bible is written, recorder for the benefit of the redeemed of mankind but is available to all. Curiosity about the Bible comes from the Spirit of God, John 16:12-16.
We begin with milk doctrine, teaching as babes in Christ and advance to mature, meat doctrines as adult Christians, 1Corinthians chapter 3.
The Bible is a word picture and must be accurately assembled to see the entire picture as provided, 2Timothy 2:15.
Godâs plan for Christians is to succeed. Most of the information about losers is very sketchy and is provided for WHAT NOT TO DO or be with few details.
The Bible is not a âBook of Choiceâ for losers and only confuses them as they do not have the Spirit of God for comprehension, explanation.
Saul was an academic Old Testament scholar who misunderstood the application of Scripture. After being BORN AGAIN he became the Apostle Paul a dynamic expositor of Truth and a conduit for the Holy Spirit to speak and record Godâs word to the World.
The Bible is designed to be an in depth history and prophecy and Christian conduct manual for the redeemed and is revealed to us by LINE UPON LINE-PRECEPT UPON PRECEPT learning, teaching, Isaiah 28:9-12, 2Timothy 2:15, 2Peter 3:13-18, 1Corinthians 2:14-16, Acts 16:13-14.
PSALM NUMBER 1:
1. How blessed is the man;
A. Who does not walk in the counsel of the Wicked,
B. Nor stand in the path of Sinners,
C. Nor sit in the seat of Scoffers!
2. But his delight is in the LAW of the LORD and in His LAW he meditates day and night,
The Law in this context is the whole council of God that comes by the Holy Spirit of God teaching the written âWord of Godâ the entire Bible, Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:1-4. Deuteronomy 8:3.
3. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
A. Which yields its FRUIT in its SEASON, Isaiah 28:9-11, Matthew 24:45,
Fruit here is spiritual fruit and comes from the intake of Soul food, the bread of life, manna from Heaven and is fed to those who hear and respond, to those who OVER TIME, in their SEASON are spiritually weaned from milk doctrine, to those Christians who want to know the height, width and deep of God, Ephesians 3:14-21, and comes to us by âLine upon Line and Precept on Preceptâ, Isaiah 28:9-12, Revelation 2:17.
B. And its leaf does not wither, Hebrews chapter 11, Romans 11:29;
C. And in whatever he does he prospers, 3John 1:2.
4. The wicked are not so but they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
The actions and influence of Evil people even those who left a legacy of Evil deeds that remained after their passing by death will eventually fade into obscurity.
The deeds of Hitler in Germany and Stalin in Russia and Pol Pot in Cambodia, etc; are a matter of contemporary history but will fade as the memory of other despots has who cannot be named or remembered.
Many that are known today will be the dust of tomorrow and they will spend eternity with Satan, the Evil God of their choice as expressed by their Evil Deeds and they are unrepentant, Ephesians 2:1-10, 2Corinthians 4:3-4, 2Thessalonians 2:8-13.
The Church is a special group of saints that God through Jesus Christ has sanctified, sainted, set aside who will have authority over the creation for eternity and will have access and/or residence in the NEW JERUSALEM, Revelation 3:7-13, Romans chapter 8.
Many people have been deceived by Satan but they are moral living people and God will deal with them at the final judgment, the âGreat White Throne Judgmentâ.
ROMANS CHAPTER 2:
5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
6 who WILL RENDER TO EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS:
7 to those who by PERSEVERANCE in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;
8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation.
9 There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek,
10 but glory and honor and peace to every man who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
JOHN CHAPTER 5:
24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My Word, and believes Him who sent Me, HAS ETERNAL LIFE, and doesNOTCOME INTO JUDGMENT, but has passed out of death into life.
25 “Truly, truly, I say to you, an HOUR IS COMING AND NOW IS, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and THOSE WHO HEAR SHALL LIVE, Ephesians 4:7-10, 1Peter 4:6. (HEAR means those who HAVE a positive response).
26 “For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;
27 and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.
28 “Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which ALL WHO ARE IN THE TOMBS SHALL HEAR HIS VOICE,
29 and shall come forth; THOSE WHO DID THE GOOD DEEDS TO A RESURRECTION OF LIFE, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment, Revelation 20:6-15.
PSALM NUMBER 1 CONTINUED:
5. Therefore;
A. The wicked will not stand in the judgment,
Meaning they will not pass the final judgment, the âGreat White Throneâ but they will spend eternity in the âLake of Fireâ, Revelation 20:6-15, John 5:28-29.
Hades and Tartarus are temporary holding cells, places for Evil mankind and Angels, 2Peter 2:4,Revelation 20:9-15, 2Peter 3:7-18.
Tartarus is translated âHellâ in the KJV but it is a holding cell for doomed Angels located below Hades in the lowest parts of the Earth. Perhaps it is like Hell, Gehenna, a city dump where the trash of history is burned, 2Peter 2:9.
B. Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
Sinners here are saved sinners who will not inherit or be with the privileged class of the redeemed as they have not been obedient or persevered, 2Timothy 4:7-8, Revelation 3:10 to the will of the God of Grace even though they are advised to do so, Ephesians 2:10, Galatians 6:7-8.
6. For the LORD knows the WAY of the righteous, But the way of the Wicked will perish.
WAY here is the one approved and recommended way that the righteous are directed to walk including 1John 1:9.
LUKE CHAPTER 6:
This is about the importance of following the instruction manual which is the Bible. Some do not and they become very confused and disillusioned, 2Peter 3:13-18.
46 “And why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?
47 “Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts upon them, I will show you whom he is like:
48 he is like a man building a house who dug deep and laid a foundation upon the rock and when a flood rose, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it because it had been well built.
49 “But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly is like a man who built a house upon the ground without any foundation and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed and the ruin of that house was great.”
MATTHEW CHAPTER 6:
19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
20 “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
21 for where your treasure is there will your heart be also, 1Timothy 6:8-21.
OUR SPIRITUAL FOCUS:
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye is clear (focused on righteousness) your whole body will be full of light.
23 But if your eye is bad (focused on Evil) your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light (understanding) that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
This is a physical asset that is used to illustrate a spiritual truth. The eyes and ears are inputs to our mind which God created giving us the ability to be aware, informed and to make volitional decisions, choices.
We are surrounded by Evil and we make choices every day. Having made a bad decision we have 1John 1:9 which is an option called repentance meaning we confess, acknowledge our sin by our Grace asset, the NAME OF JESUS and move on.
As 1John 1:9 also has a cleansing clause which can put habitual offenders into discipline even severe discipline which is for our own good, Hebrews 12:9-11 or removal from the âPerseverance Race to Perfectionâ, Revelation 3:7-22,1John 5:1-3 meaning we die a premature death but are guaranteed unrewarded eternal life, 2Corinthians12:20-21.
Those who have no discipline which can come in many forms are not children of God but are of the Evil one, Hebrews 12:8.
Even Jesus, the humanity of the God-man Jesus Christ who is the pattern and display of perfection, Romans 8:29 endured discipline in His training, Hebrews 5:8-9 much of which and perhaps all was by observation seeing the consequences of bad decisions made by others, Psalm 73.
Bad decisions and consequences of our sin and the sins of others should be a NO BRAINER as they say and is why we get discipline which is for our own good as my Mother and Father used to say just before the spatula, hand, belt hit its target.
If Adam and Eve had understood the consequences of a Bad, Evil choice they would have never transgressed, sinned with the one sin becoming many and then destruction by the flood of Noah and in the end the destruction of planet Earth by fire which has been the âLaboratory of Sinâ where God is applying the vaccine which destroys the virus of Evil.
We will meet Adam and Eve in Godâs Heaven and there will be no hard feelings as we would have done the same thing. We are all learning the consequences of bad choices that words can tell us about but consequences teach us.
Evil came into being and prospered by the volition of the created angels first and then mankind.
24 No one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or he will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (money).
God and money and our well being are the topic here. If we have a spouse, dependent children, aged parents we cannot neglect them.
25 “For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing?
26 “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
The âbirds of the airâ do not sit on a branch waiting to be fed but they go and gather as needed what the Heavenly Father has provided.
Many retirees have invested in securities thinking that was their future but thieves and the economy disappointed them.
The Lord God is our investment with solid assets such as our home. Everything fluctuates in price like paper assets and precious metals. Our basic needs are shelter, clothing, food and MODERN HEALTH CARE, 1Timothy 6:7-10.
Healing by the Lord helped verify His Ministry and was a credential of the Apostles. The Apostle Paul traveled with Luke the Gospel writer and physician who probably attended to Paulâs many nicks and bruises, 2Corinthians 11:24-27.
Many have tried to destroy Social Security which we and our employers paid for but it has had many champions who have preserved it for us and they are the hands of the Lord God our Savior.
27 “And which of you BY BEING ANXIOUS can add a single cubit to his life’s span?
28 “And why are you anxious about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,
29 yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these.
30 “But if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do so for you, O men of little faith?
31 “Do not be anxious then, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘With what shall we clothe ourselves?’
32 “For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.
If we focus on financial independence which is a fantasy then we will neglect God. If we focus on God in our working life then God will provide our needs and in the end great riches.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
